Take your taste buds on a celestial adventure with a starry picnic featuring our Starry Sky Sandwiches! A whimsical and delicious treat for outdoor dining.
Take note
Be careful not to stargaze too much while making these sandwiches, or you might end up in a different galaxy! Also, make sure to bring insect repellent to keep pesky picnic crashers at bay.
In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
Take your favorite bread slices and using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out star shapes from each slice. Feel free to make as many stars as you wish!
Take the star-shaped bread slices and spread a generous amount of the prepared cream cheese filling on one side of each slice.
Place a few blueberries or blackberries on top of the cream cheese filling on one bread slice. Then, gently press another bread slice on top to create a sandwich.
Wrap your starry sandwiches in parchment paper or plastic wrap to keep them fresh. Place them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Once chilled, remove the starry sandwiches from the refrigerator. Pack them carefully in your picnic basket, along with some refreshing beverages and star-shaped snacks.
Head to your favorite outdoor spot, be it a park, beach, or your backyard. Unwrap your starry sandwiches and enjoy a celestial picnic under the open sky!
