Dive into a vibrant and artistic dessert with our Monet Water Lilies Lemon Gelée recipe. Layers of colors and edible flowers create a masterpiece on your plate!
Take note
Be careful when handling hot liquids and sharp knives. Also, ensure that you are using edible flowers that are safe for consumption.
In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, 1 cup of water, and 1 cup of sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
In a separate bowl, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder over 1/4 cup of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
Once the gelatin has bloomed, add it to the lemon mixture. Stir well until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
Divide the lemon gelée mixture into separate bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl to create different colors for the layers. Stir well to incorporate the color.
Pour a small amount of the first color into individual serving glasses or molds. Refrigerate until set (about 30 minutes). Repeat this process with each color, layering them one by one until all the gelée mixture is used.
Once the gelée is fully set, carefully place a few edible flowers on top of each serving. You can use varieties like pansies, violets, or nasturtiums to add an artistic touch.
Gently unmold the gelées or serve them in the glasses. Admire your edible masterpiece and enjoy the refreshing and tangy flavors of the Monet Water Lilies Lemon Gelée!
