Get into the holiday spirit with our delightful Elf Ears recipe. These crescent cookies with sprinkles will bring the magic to your taste buds!
Take note
Be careful not to burn yourself when handling the hot cookies and oven. It's always a good idea to use oven mitts when taking the cookies out of the oven.
To begin our magical cookie adventure, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This will ensure that your elf ears bake to perfection and come out golden brown.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup (226g) of softened butter, 1/2 cup (100g) of granulated sugar, and 2 teaspoons (10ml) of vanilla extract. Mix them together until the ingredients are fully incorporated and creamy.
Next, add 2 cups (250g) of all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the butter mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour until it becomes easier to handle.
Take a small ball of dough, about 1 tablespoon, and shape it into a ball. Then, roll it gently between your palms, tapering the ends to create a crescent shape. Repeat with the rest of the dough, placing the shaped cookies on a lined baking sheet.
Sprinkle your elf ears with some festive joy by adding colorful sprinkles on top. Once you've adorned them with sprinkles, pop them in the preheated oven for around 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
Once your elf ears are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. Once completely cooled, it's time to indulge in their sweet, buttery goodness. Enjoy these magical treats with a warm cup of cocoa or share them with your fellow merry elves!
