1

Gather Your Supplies

First, gather all the necessary supplies. You will need: uncooked pasta in various shapes and sizes, food coloring or liquid watercolors, rubbing alcohol, sandwich bags, parchment paper, a paintbrush, scissors, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and glue.

2

Color Your Pasta

Divide the uncooked pasta into several sandwich bags. Add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors to each bag, along with a splash of rubbing alcohol. Seal the bags and gently shake them until the pasta is evenly coated. Let the colored pasta sit in the bags for about 10 minutes to absorb the color.

3

Dry and Sort

Spread out a sheet of parchment paper and carefully drain the colored pasta onto it. Allow the pasta to dry completely, which should take around 1-2 hours. Once dry, sort the pasta by color into separate containers or bowls.

4

Create the Butterfly Body

Take a pipe cleaner and fold it in half, forming a loop at the folded end for the butterfly's body. Twist the bottom ends of the pipe cleaner together to secure it in place. This will serve as the base for your butterfly.

5

Attach the Wings

Take two matching colored pasta pieces (one for each wing) and apply a small amount of glue to one side of each piece. Press the pasta pieces firmly onto the pipe cleaner, positioning them near the top of the loop to resemble butterfly wings. Let the glue dry completely.

6

Add Finishing Touches

Using glue, attach two googly eyes to the butterfly's body. Let your creativity soar by adding additional decorations such as sequins, pom-poms, or glitter to bring your butterfly to life! Allow all the glue to dry thoroughly.
