Take note
Caution: Be careful when handling hot objects and sharp utensils. Adult supervision may be required.
Using a sharp knife, make several small slits about 2/3 of the way up each hot dog. These slits will become the tentacles of our sea monster! Be careful not to cut all the way through the hot dog.
Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the hot dogs. Boil for about 5 minutes or until the tentacles start to curl. This will give your hot dogs that octopus shape. Don't overcook them, or they may lose their cute shape and become ordinary hot dogs!
Remove the boiled octopuses from the pot and let them cool slightly. Insert a small piece of uncooked spaghetti into each slit to create the look of suction cups on the tentacles. You can also use edible eyes or small pieces of cheese for the eyes if you'd like!
For an extra burst of flavor, you can grill or pan-fry your octopuses for a few minutes until they are nicely browned. This step is optional but recommended for that added smoky taste!
Place your Sea Monster Hot Dog Octopuses on a platter and let everyone marvel at your culinary creativity. Serve with your favorite condiments or alongside other ocean-themed treats. Get ready to make a splash with this fun and delicious recipe!
