Spice up your dessert game with our unique Bread Pudding variation. Add a surprise ingredient to create a mouthwatering twist!
Take note
Be careful when handling hot ingredients and using sharp utensils.
To make our mouthwatering Bread Pudding, you'll need the following ingredients: 6 cups of stale bread (cubed), 2 cups of milk, 1 cup of sugar, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1 cup of your surprise ingredient (chocolate chips, raisins, or your favorite fruit).
Take your stale bread and cut it into cubes, making sure they are all roughly the same size. You can use any bread you prefer, but we recommend using French or brioche for a rich and indulgent flavor.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Make sure all the ingredients are well combined and the sugar is fully dissolved.
Now it's time to bring on the twist! Mix in your chosen surprise ingredient (chocolate chips, raisins, or fruit) into the wet mixture. Feel free to get creative and combine different surprises for an extra special treat.
Place the bread cubes into a greased baking dish, and then pour the wet mixture over the top. Gently press down on the bread to ensure it is fully soaked. Let the mixture sit for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the bread to absorb all that flavorful goodness.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the bread has soaked, pop the baking dish into the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set in the middle. You can test the doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center – if it comes out clean, your Bread Pudding is ready!
Once your Bread Pudding is baked to perfection, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar, a dollop of whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra decadent touch. Get ready to impress your friends and family with this deliciously twisty dessert!
