Experience the irresistible combination of sweet and salty with our homemade kettle corn recipe. A perfect balance of flavors!
Take note
Be careful while making kettle corn as the sugar can get really hot and cause burns if not handled properly.
Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into a large pot with a lid. Add 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels and cover the pot with the lid. Place the pot over medium-high heat on the stove.
Hold the pot handles and gently shake the pot back and forth while the popcorn is popping. This will ensure even heat distribution and prevent the popcorn from burning.
Once the popping slows down to a few seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of granulated sugar evenly over the popcorn. Cover the pot with the lid and give it a good shake to distribute the sugar.
Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of salt over the kettle corn. If you prefer a saltier flavor, you can add a little more salt to taste. Give it another shake to evenly distribute the salt.
