Take your Easter Egg Cupcakes to the next level with adorable coconut nests. A delightful and edible decoration for your festive treats!
Take note
Remember to keep an eye on your cupcakes while they're baking and be careful not to burn yourself when handling hot pans. Also, don't forget to use oven mitts when removing them from the oven!
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until well-combined.
Line a cupcake tin with paper liners. Fill each liner about two-thirds full with the cupcake batter. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the cupcakes for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
While the cupcakes are cooling, it's time to create your adorable coconut nests. In a bowl, mix shredded coconut with a few drops of green food coloring until the coconut is uniformly colored. Take small portions of the colored coconut and shape them into nest-like structures.
Once the cupcakes have completely cooled, it's time to add the finishing touches. Place a coconut nest on top of each cupcake, gently pressing it down to create an indentation. Fill the nests with a few candy-coated chocolate Easter eggs to complete the look.
