Discover innovative ways to create biodegradable food packaging that is not only sustainable but also edible! Let's make Mother Nature tasty.
Take note
Make sure to understand the safety guidelines and be cautious when working with hot materials. Also, check for any food allergies before consuming the edible packaging.
To start off, gather the following ingredients: 2 cups of rice flour, 1 cup of cornstarch, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and 1 1/2 cups of water.
In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, cornstarch, sugar, and salt. Give it a good stir to make sure everything is evenly distributed.
Next, pour in the vegetable oil and water into the dry mixture. Mix everything together until you have a smooth and thick batter.
Transfer the batter to a non-stick pan or a greased baking sheet. Spread it out evenly to about 1/8 inch thick. Cook over medium heat or bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
Once the batter is cooked and slightly cooled, use cookie cutters or a knife to cut out desired shapes for your edible food packaging. Let them cool completely before removing from the pan.
