1

Gather your ingredients

First things first, let's make sure you have everything you need. You'll need 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (cold and cubed), 2-4 tablespoons of ice water, red and yellow food coloring, and some cornstarch for dusting.

2

Prepare your dough

Time to get your hands dirty! In a food processor, pulse together the flour and salt. Add in the cold cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add in the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Divide the dough into two equal portions and wrap them in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

3

Color your dough

Now it's time for some arts and crafts! Take one portion of the chilled dough and add a few drops of red and yellow food coloring. Knead the dough until the color is evenly distributed and you have a beautiful orange hue. If the dough becomes too sticky, add a sprinkle of flour. Repeat the process with the other portion of dough, using just yellow food coloring this time.

4

Roll out your leaves

Flour your work surface and roll out the orange dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Use leaf-shaped cookie cutters to cut out your fall leaves. Dust each leaf lightly with cornstarch and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat the process with the yellow dough.

5

Bake and decorate

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the leaves for about 10-12 minutes or until they are lightly golden. Let them cool completely on a wire rack. Once they are cool, you can get creative and decorate them with edible glitter or even paint them with food coloring diluted with a little water. Let your imagination run wild!
