Add sparkle to your dessert table with our Edible Glitter Cake Pops recipe. These shimmering treats are perfect for celebrations!
Take note
Please note that although the glitter used in this recipe is edible, it is recommended to use it sparingly and avoid consuming large quantities. The shimmering effect is mainly for decoration purposes.
Bake your favorite cake according to the recipe or use a store-bought cake if you're short on time. Let it cool completely before proceeding to the next step.
Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs using your hands or a food processor. In a large bowl, combine the cake crumbs with frosting of your choice. The frosting will help bind the crumbs together into a dough-like consistency.
Take a small portion of the cake mixture and roll it between your palms to form a smooth ball. Repeat this step until all the mixture is used and you have a set of cake balls.
Insert a cake pop stick or a lollipop stick into each cake ball, about halfway through. This will make them easier to handle and give them that classic cake pop look.
Place the cake pops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up and hold their shape.
Now it's time to make these cake pops shine! Dip each chilled cake pop into melted white chocolate or candy melts, and while the coating is still wet, sprinkle edible glitter over the top. You can use different colors of glitter for a more dazzling effect!
Place the glittered cake pops upright back onto the lined baking sheet. Allow the chocolate or candy coating to fully set and harden. Once dry, your Edible Glitter Cake Pops are ready to be enjoyed. Serve them at your celebration and watch the magic happen!
