Say goodbye to ordinary burgers and hello to our teriyaki burger recipe! Enjoy a fusion of Japanese flavors and American classics.
Take note
Be careful not to overcook the burger patties as they may become dry. Also, watch out for the hot grill or stove while cooking.
In a small saucepan, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and honey. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has thickened slightly. Set aside to cool.
In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and half of the prepared teriyaki sauce. Mix well using your hands, and then shape the mixture into burger patties.
Preheat your grill or a pan over medium-high heat. Place the burger patties on the grill or in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
During the last couple of minutes of cooking, brush the cooked side of the patties with the remaining teriyaki sauce. Flip the patties and cook for an additional minute, then brush the other side with more teriyaki sauce.
Toast your burger buns and spread some mayonnaise on both sides. Place the cooked teriyaki patties on the buns and top them with lettuce, sliced tomato, and any other toppings you desire. Serve and enjoy!
