1

Bake the Cookies

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Gradually add 2 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix until well combined. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using the bottom of a glass, flatten each ball slightly. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.

2

Prepare the Witch's Hat Shapes

While the cookies are cooling, it's time to create the witch's hat shapes. Melt 1 cup of dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Take a sugar cone and dip the wide end into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Place the cone on a piece of wax paper and let it cool and harden. Repeat this process for as many hats as you want to make.

3

Assemble the Witch's Hats

Now it's time to assemble the witch's hats. Take a cooled cookie and flip it upside down. Place a small dollop of melted dark chocolate in the center of the cookie. Carefully place the chocolate-coated sugar cone on top of the dollop, pressing down gently to secure it. The chocolate will act as glue to hold the cone in place. Let the chocolate harden completely before serving.
