You'll need

  • Matcha powder 2 teaspoons
  • Hot water 2 ounces
  • Honey or sweetener 1 tablespoon
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Ice cubes As needed

1. Be careful not to spill the ingredients while mixing, unless you want to matcha-strophe on your hands!

Brew the matcha

Scoop 2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a mug. Add 2 ounces of hot water (not boiling) and whisk vigorously until the matcha is dissolved and frothy.

Sweeten it up

In a separate glass, combine 1 tablespoon of honey or sweetener of your choice with 1 tablespoon of hot water. Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved.

Mix it together

Pour the sweetened mixture into the matcha mug and stir until well combined.

Chill it out

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and pour in 1 cup of your choice of milk (regular, almond, soy, etc.). Then, slowly pour the matcha mixture over the ice and milk.

Give it a shake!

Place a lid on the glass and give it a good shake to mix everything together and chill it even further.
