Bring a touch of sweetness to your day with our delightful recipe for Petal Pink Puff Pastries with Cherry Filling. A treat to brighten any occasion!
Take note
Please note that cherry filling can be quite hot, so be careful not to burn yourself while handling it. Also, be sure to use caution when working with puff pastry, as it can be a bit finicky.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and use a cookie cutter to cut out petal shapes. You'll need an even number of petals for each pastry.
Place a spoonful of cherry filling in the center of one puff pastry petal. Gently press another petal on top, sealing the edges by lightly pressing down with a fork. Repeat with the remaining petals.
In a small bowl, combine a few drops of red food coloring with a teaspoon of water. Use a pastry brush to paint the top of each filled pastry with the pink mixture, giving them a lovely petal pink hue.
Transfer the pastries to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy. Keep an eye on them as they bake, as puff pastry can turn from golden to burnt in a flash!
Once baked, remove the pastries from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Sprinkle with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness, and savor every delightful bite!
