In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of melted butter with 1 tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning. Mix well until the seasoning is evenly incorporated into the butter. Set aside for later use.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup of melted butter, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1 large egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or line it with cupcake liners. Divide the muffin batter evenly among the cups, filling each about 2/3 of the way full.
Take a spoonful of the prepared bagel topping and sprinkle it generously over each muffin, covering the entire surface. Press the topping gently into the batter to help it adhere.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The muffins should be lightly golden in color.
