Take note
Be cautious, once you taste this gourmet Reuben Sandwich, you may never want to go back to regular sandwiches again! It's that good!
In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 tablespoon pickle relish, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully combined. Set aside for later.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 pound of thinly sliced corned beef and cook for about 2 minutes on each side, until heated through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Take 8 slices of artisanal rye bread and lightly toast them. You want them to be crispy on the outside, but still soft on the inside. Keep an eye on them, as rye bread can toast quickly.
Spread Russian dressing on one side of each slice of toasted rye bread. On 4 of the slices, layer corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. Top with the remaining slices of bread, Russian dressing side down.
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a little butter or oil to prevent sticking. Place the assembled sandwiches on the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
Remove the Reuben Sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute or two. Cut them in half if desired, and serve them with a side of pickles or chips. Get ready to impress your taste buds!
