In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of melted butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. Use a donut cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out donut shapes. Don't forget the donut holes!
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot. Carefully add the donuts to the hot oil and fry them for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn golden brown. Remove from the oil and let them cool on a wire rack.
In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well combined.
Place the cooled donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle the glaze over the donuts using a spoon or a piping bag. You can get creative and add some sprinkles or crushed nuts on top!
