Indulge in a fish-shaped cone without the gluten with our recipe! Discover a world of deliciousness that's safe for those with gluten sensitivities or dietary restrictions.
Take note
Please note that fish-shaped cones require some basic artistic skills. Don't worry, though - if your creation doesn't quite resemble a fish, it'll still taste amazing!
In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of gluten-free flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and a pinch of salt. In a separate small bowl, whisk together 1 egg and 1/2 cup of milk. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones, whisking until smooth. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes to allow the flour to fully hydrate.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the batter onto the parchment paper, then use the back of the spoon to spread it into the shape of a fish. Repeat this step, leaving enough space between each fish shape. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cones are lightly golden and crisp.
Remove the fish-shaped cones from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack. While they're cooling, soften your favorite gluten-free ice cream at room temperature until it's easily scoopable. Once the cones are cool, gently separate them from the parchment paper. Scoop the ice cream into the middle of each cone, using a knife or spatula to shape it like a fish tail. You can even add some chocolate chips for eyes! Serve immediately or place the fish cones in the freezer to firm up.
