Dive into seafood delight with our tasty 'Lobster Bisque' recipe! A velvety, creamy soup that will make your taste buds dance.
Take note
Please exercise caution while handling live lobsters. They have sharp claws and can be quite feisty. Also, be careful when working with hot liquids to avoid burns.
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Carefully add the live lobster and boil for 8-10 minutes, or until the shells turn bright red. Remove the lobster from the pot and let it cool. Once it's cool enough to handle, remove the meat from the shells and chop it into bite-sized pieces.
In a separate large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions, carrots, and celery, and sauté until they become soft and translucent. This will take about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Sprinkle flour over the cooked vegetables and stir well to combine. Slowly pour in the seafood stock while stirring continuously to avoid any lumps. Add tomato paste, paprika, and a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little kick. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Using a blender or immersion blender, carefully blend the soup until it becomes smooth and creamy. If using a blender, blend in batches and be cautious while handling hot liquids. Return the blended soup to the pot.
Gently stir in the chopped lobster meat and let it simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
Ladle the scrumptious lobster bisque into bowls and garnish with fresh herbs, such as parsley or chives. Serve hot and savor every velvety spoonful! Your taste buds will thank you.
