Take note
Handle with care! This spicy cosmopolitan is not for the faint of heart. Proceed with caution and always drink responsibly.
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and 2 jalapeño peppers (sliced). Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely. Once cooled, strain out the jalapeño slices and set aside.
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 tablespoons of the spicy syrup, 1.5 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of orange liqueur, and 1 ounce of cranberry juice. Add a squeeze of lime juice for an extra zing. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
Strain the cocktail into a chilled martini glass. If you like it extra spicy, you can drop in a few slices of jalapeño as well. Garnish with a twist of lime peel for a pop of color.
