Invite friends and loved ones to a charming Valentine's Day party with mini heart-shaped pancakes. These bite-sized treats will steal everyone's hearts!
Take note
Be careful with the hot pan and remember to handle it safely. And, of course, watch out for any heart-shaped pancake thieves!
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, beat 1 egg and then add 3/4 cup of milk and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth and combined.
Preheat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. To ensure your heart-shaped pancakes turn out perfectly shaped, use a heart-shaped pancake mold or cookie cutter. Place the mold onto the pan and lightly grease both the inside and outside edges with cooking spray or butter. Leave the mold on the pan while cooking.
Using a ladle or spoon, carefully pour a small amount of batter into the heart-shaped mold, filling it about halfway. Allow the pancake to cook for about 2-3 minutes, until bubbles form on the surface. Gently remove the mold, flip the pancake using a spatula, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the remaining batter, re-greasing the mold as needed. Stack your mini heart-shaped pancakes on a serving plate and get ready to steal everyone's hearts with these adorable, bite-sized treats!
