Take note
Be cautious while using hot pans and cooking utensils.
Before we begin, make sure you have the following ingredients: 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 3/4 cup of buttermilk, 1/4 cup of milk, 1 large egg, 2 tablespoons of unsalted melted butter, and heart-shaped pancake molds.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, milk, egg, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with cooking spray or a small amount of butter.
Place the heart-shaped pancake molds onto the greased skillet. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into each mold. Use a spoon or ladle to spread the batter evenly.
Let the pancakes cook on one side until bubbles start to form on the surface, then carefully remove the molds. Flip the pancakes and cook for another minute or until golden brown.
Remove the heart-shaped pancakes from the skillet and stack them on a warm plate. Serve with maple syrup, fresh berries, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Enjoy a lovely breakfast with your special someone!
