In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Next, add 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 3 large eggs to the dry ingredients. Use an electric mixer on low speed to blend everything together until the batter is smooth and creamy.
Divide the cupcake batter equally into 4 different bowls. Add a few drops of different food coloring to each bowl and mix well until you achieve vibrant colors. Feel free to get creative with the colors!
