1

Prepare the cake batter

In a large mixing bowl, cream together 200g of softened butter and 400g of sugar until light and fluffy. Then, add 4 eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together 400g of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with 240ml of milk. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.

2

Divide and color the batter

Divide the cake batter equally into six separate bowls. Now comes the fun part — coloring the batter! Use gel food coloring to create vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Start with a small amount of coloring, gradually adding more until you achieve the desired intensity. Mix well to evenly distribute the color.

3

Bake the colorful layers

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line six 8-inch round cake pans. Spoon the colored batter into each pan, one on top of the other, in the order of the rainbow. For example, start with red, then orange, yellow, green, blue, and finally purple. Smooth the tops with a spatula. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centers comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let the cake layers cool completely.

4

Assemble and frost the cake

Once the cake layers are completely cooled, place the purple layer on a cake stand or serving plate. Spread a layer of your favorite frosting, such as vanilla or cream cheese, on top. Repeat this process, adding each color layer and frosting in between until you reach the top. For an extra touch, add some colorful sprinkles or edible glitter on the final layer of frosting. Now step back and admire your masterpiece!
