Beat the heat with our recipe for a Perfect Peach Iced Tea! Bursting with peachy flavor and guaranteed to cool you down.
Take note
Handle hot liquids with care. Be cautious when using sharp knives. Watch out for brain freeze if you gulp it down too fast!
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and 2 ripe peaches (pitted and chopped). Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the peaches soften and the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool.
In a large heatproof pitcher, add 4 cups of hot water and 4 tea bags (regular black tea or your favorite fruity tea). Let the tea steep for about 5-7 minutes, or until it reaches your desired strength. Remove the tea bags and discard them.
Once the tea has cooled to room temperature, add the peach syrup you prepared earlier. Stir well to combine the flavors and give it a taste. Feel free to add more syrup if you want it extra peachy!
Place your pitcher in the refrigerator and let the Perfect Peach Iced Tea chill for at least 1-2 hours, or until it's nice and cold. When you're ready to serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour in the refreshing tea. Garnish with a slice of peach or a sprig of mint, if desired.
