Take note
Please be cautious when handling hot oil while making churros. Keep children and pets away from the kitchen during the frying process.
Head to the store and gather all the ingredients and supplies you'll need for the churros and chill night. You'll need: 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 cups of water, 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 eggs, vegetable oil for frying, 1 cup of granulated sugar for coating, and your favorite chocolate sauce for dipping.
In a saucepan over medium heat, add water, butter, sugar, and salt. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir vigorously until it forms a smooth dough. Let it cool for a few minutes.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot to about 350°F (175°C). While the oil heats, beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Once the dough has cooled slightly, add the eggs to the dough and mix until well combined. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, about 4-6 inches long. Fry until golden brown on all sides, turning occasionally. Remove churros from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
While the churros are still warm, roll them in a bowl filled with granulated sugar until coated. Serve the churros with your favorite chocolate sauce for dipping. Grab a cozy blanket, turn on Netflix, and enjoy your churros and chill night with loved ones!
