Take note
Handle the pie dough gently to prevent it from becoming tough. Be careful when handling hot apple filling and make sure to allow the pies to cool before serving.
Peel and core three fresh apples, then chop them into small pieces. In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the apple pieces, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Cook the mixture for about 5 minutes until the apples are slightly softened. Set aside to cool.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out a sheet of ready-made pie dough on a lightly floured surface. Using a sharp knife or a round cookie cutter, cut out circles of dough. Place a spoonful of the cooled apple filling in the center of each dough circle. Gently fold the sides of the dough up and around the filling, creating a rose shape. Place the mini rose pies in a greased muffin tin.
Pop the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Keep an eye on them, as baking times may vary. Once baked, remove the mini rose pies from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for a few minutes. Carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
