Take a sweet dance with your taste buds as you learn the art of creating a showstopping pavlova. From perfectly crisp meringue to heavenly toppings, this dessert will have you leaping for joy!
Take note
Be careful while separating the eggs to avoid any yolk getting into the egg whites. Also, ensure that you have a clean and dry mixing bowl as any traces of grease can prevent the egg whites from whipping properly.
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). In a mixing bowl, add 4 egg whites (room temperature) and whisk them until they form soft peaks. Gradually add 1 cup (200g) of granulated sugar, whisking continuously until the mixture becomes glossy and stiff peaks form.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Spoon the meringue mixture onto the tray and shape it into a round disc or any desired shape. Create a slight indent in the center to hold the filling. Bake the pavlova in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until it turns crisp and dry. Then, turn off the oven but leave the pavlova inside to cool completely.
Carefully transfer the cooled pavlova to a serving plate. Fill the center indent with freshly whipped cream. Top it generously with your favorite fruits like strawberries, kiwis, and passion fruit. Dust some powdered sugar over the fruits for an extra touch of sweetness.
