Take note
Please be careful while working with sharp tools and hot oven. Always supervise children when they are involved in the kitchen.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of pumpkin puree, 1 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon of ginger, and a pinch of salt. Mix them well until all the ingredients are combined smoothly.
Take a pre-made pie crust and lightly flour your working surface. Roll out the pie crust with a rolling pin until it's about 1/8 inch thick. Carefully transfer the rolled pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish.
Using a sharp knife, carefully cut out pumpkin shapes from the remaining pie crust. You can also use small cookie cutters for more intricate designs, like leaves or flowers. Arrange the cutouts on top of the pie crust in a decorative pattern, making sure they are evenly spaced.
Pour the prepared pumpkin filling into the pie crust, making sure it's evenly distributed. Gently tap the pie dish on the countertop to remove any air bubbles. Place the pie in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
Once the pie is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before serving. This will allow the filling to set completely. After cooling, you can refrigerate the pie until ready to serve. Slice and enjoy your masterpiece!
