Combine the best of both worlds with our churro ice cream bowls. A crispy, cinnamon-infused delight for ice cream lovers!
Take note
Please be careful when working with hot oil. Ensure that you have adult supervision if needed.
In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the dough comes together.
Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Heat a large pot of vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C). Carefully pipe the dough in a spiral shape onto a piece of parchment paper, creating a bowl shape. Use scissors to cut the dough at the desired size. Carefully lower the dough into the hot oil, and fry until golden brown.
Once the churro bowls are cooked and golden brown, remove them from the oil and let excess oil drain on paper towels. While still warm, roll the bowls in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar until fully coated. Allow them to cool completely.
Once the churro bowls are cooled, scoop your favorite ice cream into them. You can choose classic vanilla, indulgent chocolate, or any other flavor that tickles your taste buds. Add a sprinkle of extra cinnamon on top, if desired.
