Bring the flavors of the Southwest to your plate with our loaded Tex-Mex fries recipe! It's a fiesta of flavors, with spicy toppings and a burst of cheesy goodness.
Take note
Be warned, these loaded Tex-Mex fries are seriously addictive! You may find yourself unable to resist going back for seconds (or thirds). Don't say we didn't warn you!
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread a bag of frozen French fries on a baking sheet, making sure they are evenly spaced. Bake according to the package instructions until they are golden and crispy.
While the fries are baking, it's time to prepare the delicious toppings. Grab your favorite jar of salsa, a can of black beans (rinsed and drained), sliced jalapenos, chopped fresh cilantro, and some shredded cheese. You can use cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend of both for an extra cheesy kick.
Once the fries are done baking, transfer them to a large serving platter or individual plates. Pile on the salsa, black beans, sliced jalapenos, and chopped cilantro. Be as generous as you like! Don't forget to sprinkle on a mountain of shredded cheese.
Place the loaded fries under the broiler for a few minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye on them to avoid burning – nobody wants charred cheese!
Remove the loaded fries from the broiler and let them cool for a minute or two. Now it's time to add some finishing touches! Sprinkle some extra chopped cilantro on top for added freshness. And for an extra Tex-Mex touch, dollop on some sour cream or guacamole. It's time to dig in and enjoy!
