1

Prepare the Tangerine Mixture

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine 1 cup of freshly squeezed tangerine juice, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.

2

Reduce the Mixture

Bring the tangerine mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the mixture has reduced to about 1/4 cup. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

3

Add Citric Acid and Gelatin

Remove the saucepan from heat. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of citric acid over the tangerine mixture and stir well until fully dissolved. In a separate small bowl, mix together 2 packets of unflavored gelatin with 1/4 cup of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom. Then, microwave the gelatin mixture for 20 seconds, or until fully melted.

4

Combine the Mixture

Pour the melted gelatin mixture into the saucepan with the tangerine mixture. Stir until well combined.

5

Shape the Candies

Prepare a silicone candy mold or a greased baking dish. Carefully pour the tangerine mixture into the mold, filling each cavity or the dish. Allow the candies to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour, then refrigerate for an additional 2 hours or until set.

6

Unmold and Enjoy!

Once the candies are fully set, gently remove them from the mold or cut them into desired shapes if using a baking dish. Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking. Enjoy the tangy tangerine candies immediately, or store them in an airtight container for up to one week.
