Start by rinsing the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions, then let it cool for a few minutes. In a small bowl, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour the mixture over the cooked rice and gently mix it in to season the rice.
Choose your favorite sushi fillings such as sliced avocado, cucumber, crab sticks, and smoked salmon. Prepare the fillings by slicing them into thin strips or bite-sized pieces. Get creative and customize your fillings to your taste!
In a cake mold or a round bowl lined with plastic wrap, layer the sushi rice and fillings. Start with a layer of sushi rice, then add a layer of fillings. Press down gently to create a compact layer. Repeat the process to create multiple layers, alternating between rice and fillings.
Once you've created the desired number of layers, carefully remove the sushi cake from the mold or bowl by lifting the plastic wrap. Transfer the sushi cake to a serving platter. Now it's time to get creative with the decorations! Arrange additional fillings, like slices of fish or garnishes, on top of the cake. Finally, cut the sushi cake into slices and serve with soy sauce and wasabi. Enjoy!
