Master the art of Phorrito wrapping! Our step-by-step guide will have you rolling up pho and burrito goodness with finesse and style.
Take note
Be careful while handling the hot ingredients and sharp knives. It's always a good idea to wash your hands before getting started.
For this phorrito adventure, you'll need: 2 large rice paper wraps, 4 ounces of cooked thin rice noodles, 1 cup of cooked and shredded beef or chicken, 1 cup of fresh herbs (such as cilantro, Thai basil, and mint), 1 cup of bean sprouts, 1/2 cup of grated carrots, 1/2 cup of thinly sliced cucumber, hoisin sauce, and Sriracha sauce. Feel free to add any other ingredients you love!
Fill a large shallow dish with warm water. Dip one rice paper wrap into the water and let it soften for about 10-15 seconds. Place it carefully on a clean, damp kitchen towel.
Spread a thin layer of hoisin sauce and Sriracha sauce on the rice paper wrap. Then, arrange a handful of rice noodles, shredded beef or chicken, fresh herbs, bean sprouts, grated carrots, and cucumber on top.
Fold the sides of the rice paper wrap over the filling. Start rolling from the bottom, tucking the fillings in tightly as you go. Roll it up just like a burrito, making sure everything is snugly wrapped inside. Repeat the process with the second rice paper wrap.
Using a sharp knife, cut the phorrito in half diagonally. Serve it as is or with additional hoisin sauce and Sriracha sauce for dipping. Get ready to enjoy your pho-filled, burrito-inspired creation!
