Take note
Handle the hot waffle iron with caution. Be careful while pouring and spreading the caramel sauce as it can be hot and sticky.

1

Prepare the Waffle Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together to evenly distribute the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, beat 2 eggs, 1 3/4 cups of milk, and 1/4 cup of melted butter. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes to allow the baking powder to activate.

2

Cook the Waffles

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once hot, pour a ladleful of batter onto the center of the iron. Close the lid and cook for the recommended time or until the waffle is golden brown and crispy. Repeat until all the batter is used, keeping the cooked waffles warm in a low oven until ready to serve.

3

Prepare the Caramel Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup of butter over medium heat. Add 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of heavy cream. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and combined. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

4

Assembly Time!

Slice 2-3 apples into thin rounds. Place a cooked waffle on a plate and drizzle with the prepared caramel sauce. Arrange the apple slices on top of the waffle, creating a beautiful pattern. Drizzle some more caramel sauce over the apples, and sprinkle with cinnamon for an extra touch of warmth. Repeat with the remaining waffles and toppings.
