Take note
Prolonged exposure to mouth-watering aromas may result in uncontrollable cravings and heightened appetites. Be prepared to drool and have plenty of napkins on hand!
To surprise your taste buds with Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, you'll need the following: - 1 pound of breakfast sausage - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour - 2 cups of whole milk - Salt and pepper to taste - Biscuits (homemade or store-bought)
In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Break it up into crumbles with a spoon as it cooks. Set aside.
In the same skillet, leave about 2 tablespoons of sausage drippings. Sprinkle the flour over the drippings and whisk until well combined. Cook for about 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Return the cooked sausage to the skillet with the gravy and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat everything through. If the gravy becomes too thick, you can add a little more milk. Serve the sausage gravy over warm, fluffy biscuits and prepare to have your taste buds blown away!
