In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of instant yeast, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix well. In another bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup of warm milk and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.

Add some color

Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Add a few drops of different food coloring to each portion, creating a rainbow of colors. Knead each portion until the color is evenly distributed and the dough is smooth. If needed, add more flour to prevent sticking.

Shape the bagels

Take a small piece from each colored dough portion and roll it into a thin log. Repeat with the remaining dough. Gather all the colored logs and twist them together gently to create a swirled effect. Form the twisted dough into a bagel shape by joining the ends and pressing them together.

Place the shaped bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover them with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until they have doubled in size.
