Take note
Caution: This recipe may cause uncontrollable cravings and an overwhelming desire to skip meals and eat cake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is highly recommended to have a backup stash of these cakes to share with others, in case you accidentally eat them all yourself!
Pick out your favorite colors and prepare 6 bowls for each color of the rainbow. Remember, the more vibrant the colors, the more magical your cloud cakes will be!
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add the flour and milk, alternating between the two until all is incorporated. This will create a fluffy cloud-like batter.
Divide the batter into the 6 prepared bowls, and add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl. Mix well until the colors are evenly distributed. Get creative and mix colors to achieve beautiful shades!
Grease and line a round cake pan with parchment paper. Starting with one color, spoon a dollop of batter into the center of the pan. Add another color on top and gently spread it to create layers. Repeat with the remaining colors, creating a beautiful rainbow effect.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place your cake pan in the oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once the cake is completely cooled, you can frost it with your favorite icing or a fluffy cloud of whipped cream. Slice and serve with a sprinkle of joy. Enjoy the magical explosion of colors with every bite!
