Fill your home with heavenly aromas! Our homemade cinnamon circle bread recipe will leave you feeling warm and toasty.
Take note
Be careful not to overindulge in this heavenly bread. It's so delicious, it might transport you to another dimension!
In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix them together like you're stirring a cauldron of magical ingredients.
In a separate small bowl, heat 1 cup of milk until it's warm, but not hot. We don't want to scald those milk particles! Add 1/4 cup of melted butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir it all together until you have a milky mixture that's smoother than a cloud.
Pour the milky mixture into the dry ingredients bowl, and carefully stir it all together until you have a sticky dough. Dust your hands and the countertop with flour to prevent sticking, then transfer the dough onto the countertop. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes as smooth as a unicorn's mane.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size. During this time, resist the urge to peek at the rising dough, as it might lose some of its magical powers!
Once the dough has risen, transfer it back to the countertop and roll it out into a large circle. Sprinkle a mixture of 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon evenly over the dough. Carefully roll the dough into a log shape, and then shape it into a circle. Pinch the edges together to seal in the magical filling.
Place the shaped dough on a greased baking sheet and cover it once again with a towel. Let it rise for another 30 minutes to let the magic continue. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and when the dough is ready, bake it for 25-30 minutes until it turns golden brown and sends out heavenly aromas.
Once your Celestial Cinnamon Circle Bread has cooled slightly, it's time to take your taste buds on a journey to cloud nine. Slice and indulge in this warm and fluffy treat. You can enjoy it as is or top it with a heavenly cream cheese frosting.
