Take note
Caution: Eating these biscuits may give you an uncontrollable urge to fight crime in a cape and cowl.
Don your utility belt and gather the following ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter (cut into small cubes), 1/2 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 cup fresh blackberries, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar for the finishing touch.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. The Bat Signal won't be enough to bake these biscuits, we need some serious heat!
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until they're as well combined as Batman and Robin. Remember, a hero is only as good as their ingredients!
Using your hands or a pastry cutter (Bat-a-rangs work too), cut the cold butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Alfred would approve of this buttery transformation!
Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, and gently stir until the dough just comes together. Be gentle, just like Batman when he's saving the day.
Gently fold in the fresh blackberries, being careful not to squish them. We don't want Batman's famous black suit stained, do we?
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a bat-shaped cookie cutter (or any other shape that makes you feel like a hero) to cut out the biscuits. Repeat until all the dough is used up, just like Batman never gives up!
Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until they're golden brown and cooked through. While they cool down, contemplate the hero you are and how you can save the world using the power of pastry.
