In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons of instant yeast, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to combine.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of warm milk, 1/4 cup of melted butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 beaten egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, a tablespoon at a time.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of cocoa powder, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/4 cup of melted butter to make a chocolate filling. Set aside.
Roll out the dough into a rectangle shape on a floured surface. Spread the chocolate filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.
Cut the rolled dough into 8 equal-sized pieces. Place each piece into a greased muffin tin, cut-side up. Cover the muffin tin with a clean kitchen towel and let the cruffins rise for another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the cruffins in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, dig in and enjoy the chocolaty goodness!
