Discover the secret to creating these shimmering, zesty grapefruit gummies that look and taste like a burst of sunshine in every bite.
Take note
Please note that this recipe requires the use of gelatin, so it may not be suitable for vegetarians or vegans. Also, be cautious while handling hot liquid, as it can cause burns. Lastly, resist the urge to eat them all at once - these gummies are addictive!
Gather the following ingredients: 2 cups of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, 1/4 cup of sugar, 4 packets of unflavored gelatin, and a pinch of salt.
In a saucepan, pour the grapefruit juice and add the sugar. Sprinkle the gelatin packets evenly over the mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
Place the saucepan over low heat and stir the mixture constantly until the gelatin and sugar have completely dissolved. Be patient, it may take around 5 minutes.
Once everything is dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat. Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor. Skim off any foam that may have formed on the surface.
Pour the mixture into silicone molds or a baking dish lined with plastic wrap. Let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, and then transfer to the refrigerator to set for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Once the gummies are firm, gently unmold them or remove them from the baking dish. If you used a baking dish, cut the gummies into bite-sized squares. Admire their beautiful, glass-like appearance before you devour them!
