Take note
Be careful while frying the koftas as hot oil can splatter. Also, make sure to handle the hot gravy with caution.

1

Prepare the Koftas

In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of mashed paneer, 1/2 cup of grated boiled potatoes, 2 tablespoons of corn flour, 2 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander leaves, 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon of green chili paste, 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder, and salt to taste. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.

2

Shape and Fry the Koftas

Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Carefully drop the koftas into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown. Remove the koftas from the pan and set them aside.

3

Prepare the Gravy

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a separate pan over medium heat. Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown. Add 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute. Then, add 2 medium-sized tomatoes (pureed) and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.

4

Simmer the Gravy

Add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1/4 teaspoon of garam masala powder, and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then, add 1/2 cup of fresh cream and stir until well combined.

5

Add the Koftas

Gently place the fried koftas into the gravy and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Make sure the koftas are well-coated with the gravy. If the gravy is too thick, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency.

6

Garnish and Serve

Garnish the Malai Kofta with some chopped coriander leaves and a drizzle of fresh cream. Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice. Enjoy the deliciousness!
