Spice up your Sushi Donut game with our spicy twist suggestions. From wasabi to sriracha, add some heat to your sushi creation!
Take note
Be sure to use caution when handling spicy ingredients and avoid touching your eyes afterwards. Adjust the level of spiciness according to your taste preferences and keep in mind that some people have a lower tolerance for heat.
In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of sriracha sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce. Adjust the amount of sriracha sauce based on your desired level of spiciness. Set the sauce aside for later use.
Cook your sushi rice according to the package instructions. Once it's cooked and slightly cooled, transfer it to a large bowl. Gradually add in 1 teaspoon of wasabi paste and mix well until the rice turns a light green color. The amount of wasabi paste can be adjusted to suit your spice preference.
Take a silicone donut mold and lightly grease it with a neutral flavored oil. Scoop a small amount of the spicy sushi rice mixture into the mold and press it firmly to pack the rice. Ensure that the mold is evenly filled. Repeat this step until all the rice is used. Let the sushi donuts cool and set in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes.
Carefully remove the sushi donuts from the mold and place them on a serving plate. Drizzle the spicy sauce (prepared in step 1) over the top of each sushi donut. Sprinkle some sesame seeds for added texture and visual appeal. Feel free to garnish with sliced green onions or other desired toppings.
