In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of instant yeast, and a pinch of salt. Give it a whisk to mix everything together.
Pour in 1/2 cup of warm milk, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1 beaten egg into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Use a spatula or your hands to mix everything until a dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and brush it all over the dough. Sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon and sugar on top.
Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices with a sharp knife. Take each slice and twist it gently to create a cronut-like shape. Place the twisted cronut cinnamon rolls onto a greased baking sheet.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the cronut cinnamon rolls for about 15-20 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and puffy. While they're baking, mix together 1 cup of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk to create a glaze. Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze on top.
