  • All-purpose flour 2 cups
  • Sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Instant yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Unsalted butter 1/4 cup (plus extra for filling)

  • Cinnamon 2 tablespoons

Take note
Be careful not to overwork the dough or your cinnamon rolls may turn out tough. Also, be sure to let them cool slightly before diving in, as the filling can be hot!

1

Prepare the dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 1/4 teaspoons of instant yeast. Mix well. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat 1/2 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of unsalted butter until warm (about 110°F). Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.

2

Knead the dough

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

3

Roll out the dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

4

Prepare the filling

In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, and 1/4 cup of softened butter. Spread the mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

5

Roll and slice the dough

Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Use a sharp knife to cut the log into 12 equal slices.

6

Bake the cinnamon rolls

Place the cinnamon roll slices into a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each one. Cover the dish with a clean towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F. Once the rolls have risen, bake them for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Enjoy!

Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool slightly before diving in. Serve them warm and enjoy the pure bliss of cinnamon goodness!
