Experience the joy of homemade 'Gummy Bears' with our vegan recipe! These gelatin-based treats are irresistibly chewy and will leave you craving more.
Take note
Please note that this guide requires a candy mold specifically designed for gummy bears. Also, keep these gummy bears away from sunlight or they might start sunbathing!
In a medium-sized saucepan, combine 1 cup of fruit juice (choose your favorite flavor), 1/4 cup of agave syrup, and 3 tablespoons of agar powder. Stir well to make sure everything is nicely blended.
Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Stir the mixture continuously until it starts to boil. Once it boils, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, ensuring that the agar powder dissolves completely.
Take the saucepan off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Once it's slightly cooled, carefully pour the mixture into your gummy bear mold. Be quick, as the mixture will start to thicken!
Place the filled mold in the refrigerator and allow the gummy bears to set for at least 1 hour. To speed up the process, you can also put them in the freezer for around 30 minutes.
Once the gummy bears are set, gently pop them out of the mold. If they are sticking, you can lightly coat the mold with some cornstarch before pouring in the mixture next time.
