Indulge in the rich and caramelized goodness of our French Toast Casserole. Treat yourself to a breakfast that feels like a dessert!
Take note
Handle the hot caramel with caution. It's delicious, but it can be sticky!
Cut a loaf of French bread into thick slices. In a saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat until smooth. Pour this caramel mixture into a greased baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated. Arrange the slices in the caramel-coated baking dish.
Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight. This allows the bread to soak up all the delicious flavors.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the plastic wrap from the baking dish and bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the caramel is bubbly. Feel free to peek and drool!
Remove the French Toast Casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Carefully invert the dish onto a serving platter, allowing the caramel to drizzle over the casserole. Slice into portions and serve with your favorite toppings like powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh fruits. Enjoy the decadent delight!
