1

Mixing up the toffee batter

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, cream 1 cup of unsalted butter and 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with 1 cup of whole milk. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and ½ cup of toffee bits. Mix until just combined.

2

Baking the cake layers

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans. Divide the toffee batter equally among the pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

3

Whipping up the tequila-infused frosting

In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in 2 tablespoons of tequila and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. If the frosting is too thick, add a splash of milk. If it's too thin, add more powdered sugar. Beat the frosting until light and fluffy.

4

Stacking and decorating the cake

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of tequila frosting on top. Repeat with the second and third cake layers, stacking them one on top of the other. Frost the entire cake with the remaining tequila frosting, creating a smooth and beautiful finish. For a decorative touch, sprinkle some extra toffee bits on top. Cheers to dessert!
